Koreans Can Rent Galaxy XR for $110 Per Day, But There Are Conditions

Although Samsung has already unveiled the Galaxy XR and it’s now available in stores, it remains exclusive to the US and South Korea. We managed to get a unit shipped to our US office. You can check out our unboxing to see everything that comes in the box. On a related note, a Korean company is also offering the Galaxy XR for rent.
A private company is offering the Galaxy XR for rent, not Samsung officially
According to Chosun, a Korean firm called IP Mall is offering the Galaxy XR on rent for around 159,000 won per day (~$110). There are, however, a few conditions for eligibility. The rental service is available only to businesses, which must submit a copy of their business registration certificate. Furthermore, the minimum rental period is two days.

This setup is reminiscent of the time when private companies in China offered Apple’s Vision Pro for rent. That initiative turned out to be a major hit; largely thanks to its accessible pricing. It was around $13 per hour, allowing anyone to give it a try. Reports at the time suggested that as many as 10,000 people lined up to experience the Vision Pro.
Meanwhile, Samsung is expected to expand the Galaxy XR’s availability to more markets. A recent report suggests that Germany, France, Canada, and the UK could be next in line. That’s still somewhat slower compared to Apple’s rollout of the Vision Pro, which reached 10 markets within six months of its debut.
If the Korean rental model proves successful, we could see more private companies offering similar rental trials in regions where the Galaxy XR isn’t officially available. For those in the US, however, you can buy the Galaxy XR headset right away. And Samsung is sweetening the deal with an Explorer Pack, which includes freebies worth about $1,140.
