Google Play Store Now Uses AI to Summarize App Reviews

Google has started using AI to make it easier for people to read app reviews on the Play Store. This means you no longer need to scroll through hundreds of user comments, as you can now see a short AI-generated summary about an app. This new feature is currently rolling out through version 48.5.23-31 of the Play Store.
Google’s new AI feature makes reading Play Store reviews easier
When you visit an app page on the Play Store, you will now see a new heading called “Users are saying”. Located within the Ratings and reviews section, the heading displays a short paragraph that summarizes what users think about the app. Powered by Google AI, the summary shows both the positive and negative points.
For example, in the case of Google Docs, the summary says that users find the app easy to use and appreciate its customization options, but some found the UI buggy. Below the summary, there are also a bunch of chips that let you explore specific topics such as File Management, User Interface, and App Stability.

As mentioned above, AI review summaries are gradually coming to the Google Play Store. For Samsung Galaxy users, the feature may land with the upcoming October 2025 Google Play System build. You can keep an eye out for the update by heading over to Settings > Security and Privacy > Updates > Google Play System Update.
Nowadays, review summaries have become a common use of AI across many platforms. This eliminates the need to read long lists of comments on a product or service, saving time. Earlier this year, Apple introduced AI-generated app review summaries for the iOS App Store. Likewise, Amazon has been using a similar feature for product reviews for quite some time. Now, Google has jumped on the bandwagon to make the Play Store more helpful.
