The Galaxy Z TriFold is what many of us have been waiting for, especially after we caught a glimpse of the upcoming tri-fold on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Korea. But which markets will actually get the Galaxy Z TriFold is still up in the air. Thankfully, it has just appeared in a Bluetooth SIG certification, which could shed some light.

Galaxy Z TriFold passes by Bluetooth SIG and reveals interesting launch tidbits

The Galaxy Z TriFold has appeared with several model numbers on Bluetooth SIG (h/t Diztel). You might notice these numbers look a bit unusual. Now, let’s have a look:

  • SM-D6390
  • SM-D639N
  • SM-D639B
  • SM-D639U
  • SM-D639U1

So, what do these model numbers tell us? Let’s break it down. The first two correspond to the China and South Korea variants, two markets where Samsung is almost certain to launch the Galaxy Z TriFold. Things get more interesting when we spot the US carrier-locked and unlocked models, suggesting that a US launch is on the cards. There’s also an international variant (ending with B), which could point to the rumored UAE launch.

More specifically, the presence of US models matters because recent reports from veteran leaker Evan Blass suggested a US launch is unlikely. Credit where it’s due, though. Blass did say he’d love to be proven wrong. It could also mean that Samsung plans to initially launch the Galaxy Z TriFold in its home market and China, and follow up in the US in 2026. Notably, during its earnings call, Samsung mentioned it plans to tease “form factor innovations” next year.

Regardless of what happens, these Bluetooth SIG listings do make one thing clear: we’re officially closer to the launch of the Galaxy Z TriFold. And here’s hoping it doesn’t take long from here. As always, we’ll keep you updated once more details about the US launch emerge.
