November is almost here, and Samsung continues to roll out the October 2025 security update to more Galaxy devices. Most recently, Samsung’s 2023 foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, are receiving the October 2025 security update in the US.
Samsung begins October 2025 security update rollout to 2023 foldables
Soon after rolling out the October 2025 security update to 2024 foldables, Samsung is now updating the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 in the US. The rollout began in Korea a few days ago, followed by additional regions. The update is now live in the US for both carrier-locked and unlocked variants.
The build versions are F946USQS6FYJ3 for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and F731USQS6FYJ3 for the Flip 5. Notably, this is their first update since receiving the One UI 8 update last month, which went global earlier this month.
The October 2025 security update addresses over 26 vulnerabilities, 14 of which are Google-specific, with the rest related to Samsung. None are critical, but all are high priority. So it’s recommended to update your Galaxy device as soon as the update becomes available.
To update, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the update is downloaded, tap Install now. The installation may take a few minutes. After which, your device will reboot with the latest security patch installed.
