It’s been exactly a week since we first noticed the Prioritize notifications option while running a leaked One UI 8.5 firmware. But, much to everyone’s disappointment, it didn’t work in the previous build. Now, it seems a new leaked firmware has managed to get the feature up and running. Thanks to that, we finally get our first look at how Priority notifications will appear in One UI 8.5.

In case you missed it, the description for the feature reads. “Notifications that may be important will appear above other notifications to make sure you don’t miss them.” Of course, you get the option to choose whether to prioritize notifications for each app. Additionally, Samsung clarifies that notification content is processed on-device.

As you can see in the screenshot above (h/t Sandeep Adap), Priority notifications are now highlighted and stacked at the top. This looks like it could be the standard going forward, making important alerts stand out in an otherwise crowded notification panel starting with the One UI 8.5 update. The notifications also feature a subtle glow and adopt a Galaxy AI–style gradient.

Although Samsung hasn’t confirmed it officially, reports had suggested that the One UI 8.5 beta program would kick off in late November. That timeline now appears to have been delayed, so we may have to wait a little longer. That said, the final, stable version of One UI 8.5 is expected to arrive alongside the Galaxy S26 series. Speaking of which, the flagship series could also launch slightly later than Samsung’s usual schedule. So, more wait.
