Galaxy Tab S8, Tab Active 5, Active 5 Pro Pick Up One UI 8 in More Regions

Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy Tab Active 5 and Tab Active 5 Pro. Additionally, the Galaxy Tab S8 series has also started getting the Android 16-based One UI 8 update in multiple regions globally. This is the first major Android update for the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro and the second for the vanilla Active 5. Meanwhile, for the Galaxy Tab S8 series, it’s the final confirmed one.

Samsung expands One UI 8 rollout for Galaxy Tab Active 5 and Tab S8 series

Galaxy Tab Active 5 and Tab Active 5 Pro are receiving the One UI 8 update in multiple regions, including Europe, Turkey, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The update brings the October 2025 security patch. The build versions are CYJ3 and BYJ4, respectively. One UI 8 notably improves the performance, stability, and overall smoothness of these tablets.

The Galaxy Tab S8 series, including the Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra, has also started receiving the One UI 8 update across India, Europe, Turkey, Malaysia, and the Philippines. This comes after the rollout began in Korea earlier this week. The Galaxy Tab S8+ update has a download size of around 3.6GB. It includes the October 2025 security patch and carries a build version X806BXXU9EYJ4.

As this is the final update, the Galaxy Tab S8 series won’t receive One UI 9. However, the tablets may receive the upcoming One UI 8.5 update, expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series. The One UI 8 update brings a refreshed Weather app design, smoother animations, new clock styles, and an improved 90:10 split-screen layout for multitasking.

The One UI 8 update is now live for almost all eligible devices, ranging from top-tier flagships to budget models.
