One UI 8 Update Now Available for Galaxy M55

Over the past few weeks, Samsung has rolled out the One UI 8 update for several budget and mid-range models in the Galaxy A, Galaxy M, and Galaxy F series. However, one of the more premium mid-range handsets in the Galaxy M lineup, the Galaxy M55, was surprisingly left out of the initial release. The company has finally started rolling out One UI 8 for the device in several regions.

The One UI 8 update is now available for the Galaxy M55 in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and more markets. The update has a download size of around 2.6GB, and it comes with the October 2025 security patch for improved protection. The latest OS release for the M55 has the firmware build number of M556BXXU4CYJ4. The update should soon reach users in other regions where Samsung sold this handset.

Based on Android 16, One UI 8 brings several noticeable enhancements. Key upgrades include smoother system animations, refreshed clock styles, and a 90:10 split-screen ratio. This update also improves the Now Bar and Live Notifications. The Now Bar now has a more refined design, offering better stability and responsiveness. Many One UI 8 users have also reported that this update improves battery life.

The Galaxy M55 was launched with Android 14 out of the box, with Samsung promising four years of Android OS updates. With this rollout, it has now received its second major OS upgrade. This means it will continue getting updates up to Android 18, followed by an additional year of security patches. If you have a Galaxy M55, you can check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Tap Install now once the download is complete. Your device will restart with the latest One UI 8 software.
