Samsung Internet Could Be Making Its Way Back to Windows

Some of you might remember that Samsung Internet was once available on Windows PCs. However, Samsung unexpectedly pulled it from the Microsoft Store in January 2024. Since then, the company has remained silent about any plans to revive or relaunch it for the Windows platform. But it seems brighter days may be ahead.

Samsung Internet seems to be packing its bags for a return to Windows

The folks over at SamMobile discovered clues hinting at a possible Windows comeback for Samsung Internet while testing a beta version of the browser for Android. In the screenshots shared by the outlet, there’s a prominent teaser that reads: Samsung Internet is now available for PC.

The outlet notes that the message appears as a notification at the top of the app’s Settings page. However, that’s not the only place where Samsung is making bold statements. On Samsung Internet’s home screen editing page, there’s also a banner that reads: Go beyond mobile browsing. Join the first beta today.

Exactly when Samsung plans to roll out the browser for Windows remains unclear. The banners don’t reveal any timeline, and understandably so at this stage. However, the outlet notes that the release might coincide with the next major One UI update. That means we could see Samsung Internet make its Windows comeback around the launch of the Galaxy S26 series.

Moreover, with the recent AI browser wave led by the likes of Perplexity’s Comet and OpenAI’s Atlas, Samsung Internet has a strong chance to claim a share of the spotlight. On mobile, it already offers a suite of AI-powered tools, including webpage summarization, full-page translation, and more. So this time, Samsung might be preparing a far more polished browser than the half-baked version it shipped back in 2023.
