iPhones Won’t Flip Until 2028

Time and again, reports have suggested that Apple is working on a book-style foldable, with a potential launch set for 2026. Chances are, Samsung Display will supply the screens to bring Apple’s foldable dream to life. A new report hints that Apple might be planning a Flip-style iPhone, which would go head-to-head with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip lineup.
The iPhone Flip is at least three years away from launch
The info comes from reliable tipster yeux1122 (via MacWorld), who also mentions two other upcoming Apple products in the pipeline: the iPhone Fold and a bezel-free iPhone. Don’t expect these anytime soon, as the suggested timelines are 2026 and 2027. And yes, it’s likely Samsung Display will be supplying the panels for these as well.
Unfortunately, the tipster doesn’t reveal much about the iPhone Flip beyond a potential launch timeline. So for now, we don’t know what Apple has planned for its debut Flip. Details like screen size, whether it will have an edge-to-edge display, or how many cameras it will feature remain a mystery.

Samsung will have its 10th-gen Galaxy Z Flip by then
These details are still under wraps, and it’s way too early to speculate. If Apple follows its usual schedule and debuts the iPhone Flip in 2028, that would be at least three years away. By then, Samsung could already be on the 10th generation of its Galaxy Z Flip foldable.
Of course, these are still rumors, so take everything with a grain of salt. But it would make sense for Apple to finally join the foldable party, as coming late is rarely ideal. We’ve already seen what happens when Apple lags behind in tech trends, and hopefully, the company can come out strong with foldables to truly rival Samsung.
Oh well, I can’t wait to see what Apple brings with the iPhone Flip and how that competes with the Galaxy Z Flip 10, probably.
