Samsung is gearing up to integrate its own Cloud service into the Gallery, replacing Microsoft OneDrive. A recent leak reveals that users will be able to download their photos and videos from OneDrive to their device, but there may not be an automatic option to transfer them from OneDrive to Samsung Cloud. This means you’ll have to move the files manually to the Cloud.

The upcoming One UI 8.5 will let you back up photos and videos from the Gallery to Samsung Cloud, though it’s still unclear exactly when this change will take effect. An earlier report suggested April 11, 2026, while the most recent leak (via @achultra) points to September 30, 2026. The difference in dates suggests they are simply a placeholder at the moment.

However, we now have a better idea of how Samsung plans to handle the transition thanks to the leaked screenshot. The description reads, “Your pictures and videos will stay safe on OneDrive, but they’ll disappear from Gallery unless you download them to your phone or copy them to Samsung Cloud.” That means if you want to continue seeing photos and videos (those synced from OneDrive) in the Gallery, you need to take action before the switch happens.

To download, you need to first open the Gallery app on your Galaxy device. Now head over to Settings > Sync with OneDrive, then tap Download Originals. That’s pretty useful, right? But what about sending those files to Samsung Cloud? Unfortunately, there may not be an easy way to transfer everything at once from OneDrive to Samsung Cloud.

That said, Samsung has not finalized the One UI 8.5 build yet, so it’s possible that the company may make the transfer easier with the official rollout. The firm may launch the beta program for its next Android 16-based software next month, while the stable build may debut with the Galaxy S26 series, expected in January or February 2026.
