MediaTek Unveils Dimensity 9500 Chipset at India Mobile Congress 2025

At the ongoing India Mobile Congress, one of the world’s biggest tech and telecom expos, MediaTek showcased its latest innovations. The company pulled back the curtain on its new flagship chip, the Dimensity 9500, which will go head-to-head with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and possibly Exynos 2600 as well.

During an exclusive media keynote, MediaTek went deep on the Dimensity 9500 and what sets it apart. For starters, the chip brings on-device AI, ultra-efficient 5G performance, and support for Unreal Engine features like Mega Light and Nanite, letting phones push console-level graphics in real time.

MediaTek also showed off a few live demos, including 4K text-to-image generation and image-to-image style conversion. In one demo, it took about 15 to 16 seconds for the device to create a 4K image from text, and the whole thing ran entirely on-device, powered by the Dimensity 9500. Seeing that kind of workload handled locally was impressive, especially at that resolution.

The company also couldn’t resist taking a light jab at… ahem… cloud-based tools. It pointed out that while most cloud solutions need close to two minutes for the same image-to-image style conversion, the Dimensity 9500 can do it in roughly 9.2 seconds. The interface looked familiar, but the speed — and the fact that it was all happening on-device — made quite a difference.

For a touch of fun, MediaTek also hosted a “Game On” tournament using Dimensity 8000 and 9000 series devices. Commenting on which, Anuj Sidharth, MarCom Director, MediaTek said: “It’s a way of introducing our incredible technologies to passionate tech enthusiasts and allowing them to push these devices to their limits. This initiative reiterated MediaTek’s continued leadership and cemented our SoCs as the go-to choice for gamers.”
