Samsung Launches SmartThings Pro for Safety to Protect Workers

Samsung has launched SmartThings Pro for Safety, a new safety solution for businesses. The solution uses the Galaxy Watch and AI-based SmartThings Pro platform to provide optimized management services for various commercial spaces. It ensures the safety of industrial workers in real-time while improving workplace efficiency.
Samsung’s safety solution helps protect workers in real-time
Samsung’s latest SmartThings Pro safety management solution is currently available on the Galaxy Watch 7 LTE model. The company says it will expand support to more products in the future, allowing businesses to benefit from the system regardless of the model.
Speaking of the solution, it allows field managers to monitor the health of workers in real-time. They can track workers (wearing a Galaxy Watch) skin temperature, heart rate, fall status, and other biometric data. Furthermore, the SmartThings Pro dashboard displays the surrounding temperature and humidity data.

If a worker’s biometric readings show changes such as abnormal heat index or falls, the solution automatically sends notifications to nearby workers and safety managers. Moreover, workers can press the SOS button on the home screen of the Galaxy Watch in case of an emergency, such as being trapped in a confined space or detecting a fire.

In addition to emergency alerts, SmartThings Pro for Safety also helps improve workplace communication and efficiency. Managers can send announcements, safety reminders, and other instructions directly to workers’ watches. For example, during a heatwave, the system can alert workers about heat-related illnesses and recommend rest. Employees can also check their daily schedules, including safety training or regular inspections, on the watch.
“We will support smart industrial site safety management with a new solution that combines the health monitoring technology of the ‘Galaxy Watch’ and the data analysis of ‘SmartThings Pro,’” said Samsung Electronics B2B Solution Team Leader Vice President Park Chan-woo. “We will continue to develop differentiated AI B2B solutions that can be applied to various industrial sites, contributing to protecting worker safety and improving work productivity.”
