One UI 8 Stable Update Released for Galaxy S23 Series

Another Monday, and Samsung has kicked off the One UI 8 rollout for another flagship line. The Galaxy S23 series has officially started receiving the stable One UI 8 update, built on Android 16. The update is currently live in South Korea, with a global expansion expected later this week.

Galaxy S23 series joins Samsung’s One UI 8 update party

Users with a Galaxy S23, S23+, or S23 Ultra can now install One UI 8 on their phones. The latest update comes with the firmware build version EYI7 and carries an OTA size of around 450MB for units already on the beta version. Non-beta users get a much larger package, weighing more than 3.2GB. The Galaxy S23 FE, which wasn’t part of the beta program, should also soon receive One UI 8 globally.

Based on Android 16, this update introduces a mix of security, productivity, and design upgrades. You get a more robust Secure Folder for safeguarding private apps and files, a refreshed Samsung DeX experience powered by Android 16’s Desktop Mode, a redesigned Samsung Internet browser, improved Quick Share, and enhanced productivity tools like Alarms, Calendar, and Reminders.

One UI 8 also improves Modes and Routines with new conditions and actions for smarter automation, brings a new gesture to quickly access camera controls, enhances Bluetooth Auracast support for seamless casting, and introduces subtle UI and functional improvements across various system apps.

While South Korean users are the first to taste the stable release, Samsung should expand the One UI 8 availability for the Galaxy S23 series to other markets in the coming days. As usual, not every country will get the update on the same day, but the rollout should be relatively swift given the company’s recent track record.
