Galaxy S25 Ultra Takes Center Stage at Snapdragon Summit 2025

After months of anticipation, Qualcomm has finally pulled back the curtain on its new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor at the Snapdragon Summit 2025. This latest flagship smartphone chip from the company could power the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and possibly all three rumored models, which are slated to launch early next year.

But there was more to the event than that. Or rather, there was more about Samsung during Qualcomm’s annual summit. As you know, the Galaxy S25 Ultra packs an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. That’s made possible by the close relationship between the two companies.

Qualcomm also used the Snapdragon Summit to showcase the capabilities of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. According to CNET, which spotted the action, parts of the event were filmed using the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It was mounted on a DJI Ronin 2 gimbal attached to a boom arm. An external monitor connected via USB‑C allowed the production team to capture steady and smooth video for the livestream.

As the report also highlights, and anyone who follows these events knows, phone makers often claim that a particular event was filmed using their own device. What is noteworthy, however, is that Qualcomm, of all companies, chose the Galaxy S25 Ultra for the job.

This choice speaks volumes about the special partnership between the two brands. For obvious reasons, the more Snapdragon-powered Galaxy phones Samsung sells, the more Qualcomm profits.
