Non-beta Galaxy S25 Users also get One UI 8, Including S25 Edge

Samsung wasted no time in rolling out One UI 8 to non-beta Galaxy S25 users. The Android 16-based update is now available for the S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge widely in South Korea. Yes, the Edge model is getting it alongside the regular flagship trio. The update should soon hit users in other parts of the world.

Samsung begins a wider rollout of One UI 8 in its home country

After seven beta releases, Samsung ended the One UI 8 Beta program for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra today. It rolled out a 500MB update to beta testers in its home country, moving them to the stable version. Now, the company is pushing the big update to users who didn’t participate in the beta program. Those users are getting the same build (BYI3) as beta participants.

As expected, the OTA (over the air) package for Galaxy S25 units jumping straight from One UI 7 to One UI 8 stable, skipping the beta phase, is much larger. It can be as massive as a 4GB file, depending on the model, carrier variant, and region. The September 2025 security patch is part of the package.

But more importantly, users are getting tons of new features and enhancements. One UI 8 is based on Android 16 and comes with a host of performance improvements, design refinements, and AI upgrades. Samsung has not yet published an official schedule, but major markets like the US, India, and Europe are likely to see the stable One UI 8 update within the next few days, if not today.

The Galaxy S25 lineup is eligible for seven major Android OS/One UI updates, and One UI 8 is the first of those for the aforementioned four models. The S25 FE, meanwhile, runs One UI 8 out of the box.
