Samsung has begun rolling out the September 2025 security update to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the US. The update delivers dozens of security fixes along with stability and functional improvements, including Now Bar and DeX upgrades. It follows earlier rollouts in select international markets.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 get Samsung’s September update in the US
As of this writing, the September security release is available for the carrier-locked variants of Samsung’s latest foldables in the US. The new update carries the firmware build number F766USQU4AYI1 for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and F966USQU4AYI1 for the Fold 7. We can confirm the rollout across all major networks, including Verizon and AT&T.
The official changelog supplied by Samsung states the same set of changes rolled out in other markets. The foldables are getting Google Finance integration in Now Bar, allowing users to keep tabs on stock prices right from the lock screen. Additionally, you can now place widgets on your home screen when using a connected display and control settings for the mouse and on-screen keyboard.
Besides these enhancements, the September 2025 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 addresses over 80 vulnerabilities. This month’s security release contains patches for several critical bugs across Android and One UI components. Samsung has already rolled out these fixes to many other Galaxy models, with more to follow in the coming days. Samsung will also soon start pushing One UI 8 to eligible devices.
As usual, Galaxy users can check for new updates from Settings > Software update > Download and install. Even without flashy new features, regular security updates are a critical part of long-term device health. Keeping your phone up to date with the latest security patches not only protects your personal data but also improves overall device performance and reliability.
