Galaxy S26 Pro and Edge May Skip Charging Upgrade — Stuck at 25W

Over the past few weeks, leaks have painted an exciting picture for the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s charging capabilities. Samsung’s next flagship is expected to support 60W fast charging, a jump from the 45W limit of the S25 Ultra. Unfortunately, its smaller siblings may not get the same upgrade. The Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Edge may still be capped at just 25W, leaving them behind in an area where rivals are quickly moving ahead.

Galaxy S26 Pro and Edge still stuck at 25W charging, tipster reveals
According to prominent industry insider Ice Universe, both the Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Edge will continue to support just 25W charging, the same as their predecessors. This is disappointing news, especially for the Edge, which replaces the Plus model next year. Instead of inheriting 45W speeds from the S25+, it drops down to 25W, erasing what could have been a meaningful upgrade in everyday charging convenience.
The situation looks even worse when you realize that the S25 FE supports 45W charging. It’s the most affordable S25 model, yet it charges faster than the next-gen flagships. Samsung should have made 45W charging the standard across all premium mid-range and flagship models, with Ultras going higher. It would have been a fitting upgrade for the Galaxy S26 Pro, which is the new base model. As things stand, there’s nothing “Pro” about it.
For many users, faster charging makes a bigger difference than raw battery size, and Samsung seems to have overlooked that here. Even iPhones — long seen as the benchmark for slow charging — are now overtaking Galaxy flagships in this area. While the Galaxy S26 Ultra may finally climb to 60W speeds, keeping the rest of the lineup stuck at 25W feels like a step backward. Samsung needs to rethink this strategy and learn its lessons before it risks falling too far behind.
