There are lots of pros to using the Play Store over the Galaxy Store. One of them is the ability to remotely uninstall an app from any of the connected Android devices. That feature has been around for quite a while, and if you have more than one device, you should make use of it. Now, it looks like some nice changes are coming to the Play Store, which will let you remotely uninstall apps with much more ease.

Play Store will help you uninstall apps remotely, faster

If you’ve ever tried to uninstall something remotely, you might know the steps. You open the Play Store, dig into the “Manage apps & devices” section, filter down to the device, wait for a list of installed apps to load, and only then can you finally hit the trash icon. The feature works, but it feels buried and unnecessarily clunky for what should be a quick action. Agree?

Well, the good news is that friction might not last much longer. Android Authority dug into the latest version of the Play Store (47.7.19-31), and hidden code points to a new shortcut: an Uninstall button placed directly on an app’s listing page. In theory, this would let you pick any app, tap uninstall, and choose the device you want it gone from.

The change seems tailored for single app removals. If you’re trying to clear out a batch of apps from one device, the existing management screen is still the more practical tool. But for one-off cases. Say, when you realize your other device doesn’t really need some app, it could save a lot of time.

There’s no telling when this feature will make it to the stable version, but hopefully, we’ll see it soon. These APK teardowns don’t reveal any schedule, but what they do reveal is what’s going on under the apps and the probable changes we might see.
