Galaxy Z Flip 7 Teardown Shows It’s Surprisingly Easy to Repair

There’s a strong perception that foldable phones are among the most fragile devices. Believing they are easy to repair is the last thing you might assume. However, it seems Samsung has made some real improvements with the Galaxy Z Flip 7, as shown in a recent teardown video.

Popular YouTuber JerryRigEverything, aka Zack Nelson, is back. He has finally uploaded the Galaxy Z Flip 7 teardown, which reveals many details that even Samsung avoided sharing during the announcement and media briefings. First off, and simply put, Zack discovered that the phone is actually easy to repair, and he praised its ultra-flexible screen. He also noted that both batteries are easier to remove, which makes the device more repair-friendly.

What didn’t sit well with him, however, is that the inner screen is still extremely challenging to remove and replace without damage because of the thin glass. On top of that, he found a significant amount of dust near the hinge area, showing that complete dust protection continues to be a problem for foldable phones.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has also gone through similar teardown, and both it and the Flip 7 show that Samsung has made major progress. Improvements in durability, repairability, and hinge design prove that Samsung has done a fantastic job refining its foldables, even if the inner screen and dust resistance still remain weak points.

Still, it is not a good idea to take matters into your own hands and try fixing these devices yourself. Foldables remain fragile compared to traditional candy bar phones. Even if you manage to repair one issue, there is a real chance you could damage something else. The safest option is to bring the device to an authorized repair center and let professionals handle the work.
