August 2025 Update Available for Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch Ultra

Samsung is pushing out a fresh software update to its latest wearables β the Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and Watch Ultra. While the update doesn’t introduce new features, it delivers the August 2025 security patch, ensuring that the watches remain secure and reliable. The rollout should expand globally in the coming days.
Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch Ultra get Samsung’s August 2025 update
The latest update for these watches is primarily focused on security enhancements and general stability improvements. The official changelog confirms that the devices do not get any new features. TheyΒ continue to run on One UI 8 Watch, Samsung’s newest wearable software platform based on Wear OS 6. This version brings tighter integration with Galaxy phones and improved AI-powered features.
As of this writing, the August 2025 update for the Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and Watch Ultra is available in Samsung’s home country of South Korea. The OTA packages weigh around 160MB, with the exact download sizes varying depending on the model and connectivity variant. The new firmware build numbers are as follows:
- Galaxy Watch 8 Bluetooth version: L320XXS1AYH7 (40mm) and L330XXS1AYH7 (44mm)
- Galaxy Watch 8 LTE version: L325NKOS1AYH6 (40mm) and L335NKOS1AYH6 (44mm)
- Galaxy Watch 8 Classic Bluetooth version: L500XXS1AYH7 (46mm)
- Galaxy Watch 8 Classic LTE version: L505NKOS1AYH6 (46mm)
- Galaxy Watch Ultra LTE version: L705NKOS1BYH6 (47mm)
Samsung will soon roll out these updates globally. If you own any of its latest wearables, head over to the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected smartphone to check for updates. If the new firmware release has already hit your unit, you will see an “Update” button right below your watch’s name on the app’s home page. You can also manually check for updates by going to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install.
Even though this patch doesn’t add flashy new features, it’s an important step in keeping your wearable secure, smooth, and ready for future upgrades. So, you should install the new patch as soon as it becomes available for your Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, or Watch Ultra.
