As we mentioned in our previous report, the August 2025 security patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 also includes a bootloader upgrade. You can spot it in the build number: the fifth digit from the end has changed to 3, up from 2 in the July patch. This points to a system-level security enhancement.

So, if you are in the US and own a Galaxy Z Fold 7, you can grab the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. There are no new features or enhancements with this update, like most security patches, but it is essential. Skipping security updates is not recommended if you want to keep your device secure.

Samsung has already confirmed that its August 2025 security patch ncludes nearly 50 vulnerability fixes. This month’s patch for Galaxy devices addresses 47 critical and high-severity issues from both Google and Samsung. Some of these flaws specifically affect Samsung products. The company fixed problems across Samsung Account, Emergency SOS, Galaxy Watch sensor services, and several other Galaxy components.
