Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition in India, a rugged tablet built for tough working conditions. It’s aimed at professionals in defense, logistics, manufacturing, retail, and public safety, where devices need to handle rough use and still perform reliably.

Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition heads to India with seven years of software support

Samsung first introduced the Galaxy Tab Active 5 in the US back in February 2024, and now, about a year and a half later, the tablet has arrived in India as the Enterprise Edition.

The device is available in two variants: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage priced at ₹49,999, and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage priced at ₹56,999. Buyers also get a free one-year subscription to Knox Suite, Samsung’s enterprise-grade security platform, along with a generous three-year warranty.

One of the biggest upgrades for the Indian release is long-term software support. The Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition is eligible for seven major Android updates. It comes running Android 15-based One UI 7. That means the tablet is covered all the way up to Android 21. By comparison, the earlier release was only promised four updates. Except this, not much else has changed.

It packs Exynos 1380 under the hood and also supports S Pen!

The rugged tablet features an 8-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, and the device includes an IP68-rated S Pen. The tablet itself is both IP68 water- and dust-resistant. It’s built to MIL-STD-810H military durability standards, making it ideal for tough environments.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 runs on the Exynos 1380 processor, with support for storage expansion up to 1TB via microSD. It packs a removable 5,050mAh battery. It also offers a unique No-Battery Mode for use in kiosks or vehicles.

Speaking of cameras, the tablet comes with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Connectivity and features include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-C port. On the security and productivity side, you also get face unlock, a fingerprint sensor, Samsung DeX, and a programmable push-to-talk key.
