Samsung Debuts World’s First Micro RGB TV with a Massive 115-inch Screen

Samsung has launched the world’s first Micro RGB TV with a 115-inch screen. The display features a micro-scale RGB LED backlight for color accuracy, contrast, and an immersive viewing experience. The company has released the TV in South Korea and plans to introduce it to the global market soon, including the United States.
Samsung’s Micro RGB TV redefines the ultra-premium segment
With the debut of the Micro RGB TV, Samsung has set a new standard for the ultra-premium TV segment. The new TV’s Micro RGB technology reduces each red, green, and blue LED chip to less than 100µm. This allows the display device to control color and brightness more precisely. Furthermore, it maximizes the local dimming effect, adjusting dark and bright areas for better contrast.
“Micro RGB achieves unprecedented precision in the control of micrometer-sized RGB LEDs, raising the bar for color accuracy and contrast in consumer displays,” said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President and Head of the R&D Team of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “With this launch, we’re setting the standard in the large-sized, ultra-premium TV market and reinforcing our commitment to next-generation display innovation.”

To fully optimize both picture and sound, Samsung has also integrated a Micro RGB AI engine into the TV. This tech first analyzes each frame in real time and then automatically optimizes color output. As a result, content appears more lifelike and immersive with richer colors. Furthermore, Micro RGB uses precision color to deliver maximum accuracy and vividness, as intended. It achieves 100% color coverage of BT.2020, an international standard for color accuracy.
The new TV also adopts Glare Free technology to minimize reflections even in bright lighting conditions. On top of that, Samsung Vision AI brings a bunch of AI features, including AI picture and sound, and a smarter Bixby voice assistant. For security, it uses Samsung Knox, the industry-leading security solution. It also comes with Samsung’s 7-year free Tizen OS upgrade program.
As for pricing, the 115-inch Micro RGB TV costs 44.9 million won (around $32,000) in South Korea. Samsung says the TV will be available in a variety of sizes to meet customer needs in the future. While the company confirms it will also be available in the US, it has not mentioned a specific timeline.
