Samsung has begun rolling out the August 2025 security update to the Galaxy S24 series, Fold 6, and Flip 6. While the update doesn’t add any flashy new features, it brings important security fixes and optimizations. More importantly, it sets the stage for the upcoming One UI 8 beta program.

Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6 grab Samsung’s August 2025 update

The August patch, aka SMR (Security Maintenance Release), includes the latest Android OS fixes, closing vulnerabilities that could be exploited by hackers. Samsung has also added some Galaxy-specific patches, addressing various issues on its smartphones and tablets. In total, this month’s release contains nearly 50 vulnerability patches of varying severity, with some potentially causing more damage when exploited.

Moreover, you can expect minor performance improvements to ensure smoother operation. Samsung began rolling out these security fixes last week, initially updating the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy S25 series. The update is now live for the Galaxy S24 series, Fold 6, and Flip 6 in South Korea and India. A broader rollout for other regions, including the US and Europe, should follow soon.

As mentioned above, this update sets the stage for the One UI 8 beta rollout. Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy S24 series, Fold 6, and Flip 6 will receive their first beta updates in India, South Korea, the UK, and the US this week. The company may not release beta programs in other markets. However, it plans to expand the program to more devices in the coming weeks, with a stable rollout beginning in September.

We will let you know when the beta registration goes live for these devices on the Samsung Members app. In the meantime, Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6 users are encouraged to update their devices to the August 2025 security patch. As usual, you can check for updates from Settings > Software update > Download and install.
