Samsung Ramps Up Galaxy Z Fold 7 Production Amid High Demand in India

There’s no question Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 have stepped up their game compared to the last models. And it looks like those upgrades are paying off big time. In India, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is selling like hotcakes, flying off shelves in several regions just days after its launch.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 turns out to be more popular than the Z Flip 7, and we know why
Samsung had already shared that pre-orders were through the roof. In just 48 hours, Samsung racked up 210,000 pre-orders for both the Fold 7 and Flip 7 combined across the country. That’s no small feat. Much of that should be attributed to the notable changes we see compared to previous iterations.

What’s new this time is that the top-shelf Galaxy Z Fold 7 is leading the sales in India. Usually, the smaller and more affordable Z Flip has been the more popular choice. But this time, the Fold 7 is taking the spotlight, suggesting that buyers are becoming more interested in high-end foldable phones.
Samsung MX India’s SVP, Raju Pullan, said, “We would like to thank India’s tech-savvy consumers for giving the Galaxy Z Fold7 a blockbuster start. We are aware that many markets in the country are facing a shortfall due to huge demand.” “We are working overtime to ensure adequate supplies of our most advanced smartphone, to enable customers to enjoy the Galaxy Z Fold7 at the earliest. The strong demand is coming from both retail markets and online platforms.”
Samsung says demand has been so high that it’s causing stock shortages in some areas. To keep up, they’re increasing production at their Noida plant and working to restock both retail stores and online channels.
India is a key market for Samsung, and the early success of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 strengthens their position in the foldable phone segment. Samsung made noticeable changes with this model, making it slimmer and larger than before. When we tried it earlier this month, it felt closer to a regular smartphone thanks to its thinner design.
