Galaxy F34, Galaxy M36 Now One Step Closer to One UI 8 Update

With the latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 series launching with One UI 8 right out of the box, many users are now wondering when their own devices will receive the update. Truth be told, it may still take some time before the update rolls out to all eligible models. To keep things moving, Samsung has begun One UI 8 internal testing for the Galaxy F34 and Galaxy M36. Both are budget-friendly devices and, yes, not available in the US.

Ever-resourceful tipster Mohammed Khatri (1,2) spotted the One UI 8 test builds on Samsung’s server, confirming that the company is preparing the update for the Galaxy F34 and Galaxy M36. That said, the update is still in early development and will likely take some time before it’s ready for a public release. Both devices are eligible for the update, but they’re still a few testing phases away from getting it.

The firmware versions currently being tested are E346BXXU7EYG7 for the Galaxy F34 and M366BXXU1BYG2 for the Galaxy M36. These builds are part of Samsung’s internal testing process, which typically involves several rounds before a final rollout. As expected, neither device will receive a beta version of One UI 8. The Galaxy F and M series have historically not been part of Samsung’s beta program, and that policy isn’t changing.

According to Khatri, the internal testing is taking place in India, which makes sense since both phones are primarily sold there. India is a crucial market for Samsung’s budget and mid-range smartphones. A recent report from Counterpoint Research shows that Samsung ranked second in India’s smartphone market during Q1 2025. The Galaxy F and M series make up a significant portion of that share.
