Galaxy Z Fold 7 doesn’t have an anti-reflective display or a titanium frame

Despite expectations, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 does not feature a titanium frame. Samsung has instead gone with Advanced Armor Aluminum, which is lightweight and highly durable. What’s new, though, is the Grade 4 titanium lattice structure on the inside. This internal reinforcement provides critical support to strengthen the slim design, especially when the device is fully unfolded, as it is just 4.2mm thick in that state.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 also misses out on an anti-reflective display. Instead, Samsung has focused on improving the display’s durability and clarity in a different way. The device uses a 50% thicker Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) layer, which should offer better structural integrity and a slightly more rigid touch experience. Unfortunately, this does not significantly reduce reflections or glare under bright light. This could be a downside for users hoping for better outdoor visibility.

Samsung hasn’t skimped on external protection, though. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 includes Corning’s Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the cover screen and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the rear panel. These upgrades ensure added resistance against scratches and drops for the parts of the device that are most exposed to daily wear.
