When it comes to security, Samsung offers its Galaxy devices strong protection against threats, thanks to its Knox platform. The company now aims to further enhance its security system in the upcoming One UI 8. It introduces Android 16’s Advanced Protection mode, which allows users to activate multiple security features at once.

Samsung boosts Galaxy device security with One UI 8

A few days ago, Samsung released its third beta of One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25 series in select regions. While the update focuses mainly on bug fixes and stability enhancements, it also introduced a powerful new security feature. As spotted by Android Authority, Samsung has integrated Android 16’s Advanced Protection mode directly into its software.

If your Galaxy S25 runs One UI 8 Beta 3, you can access the feature right away by going to Settings > Google > All Services > Advanced Protection. Once you turn on the Device Protection toggle, the system will activate a bunch of security features instantly across device safety, apps, networks, web, and more. This will ensure protection against online attacks, harmful apps, insecure connections, and other threats that put your data at risk.

For instance, your device will automatically restart if the system detects that it has remained locked for three consecutive days. This comes in handy in case your device is lost or stolen, as it helps protect your data. Furthermore, it blocks the installation of apps from unknown sources, warns you before visiting non-HTTPS websites, and provides live threat protection to block harmful web pages.

Samsung is expected to roll out its stable One UI 8 update starting with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. It should then reach older Galaxy devices within a few weeks. So you won’t have to wait much longer to get the strongest security and privacy features on your device. We will let you know as soon as Samsung begins the final rollout program. Stay tuned.
