It’s finally July, and Samsung will soon unveil the Android 16-based One UI 8 stable update. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will hit the ground running with One UI 8. And before long, we can expect the update to make its way to a broader range of devices.

Samsung is now internally testing One UI 8 for Galaxy A15

Samsung has now begun testing the Android 16-based One UI 8 for Galaxy A15 (via Tarun Vats on X). If that’s any indication, Samsung is stepping on the gas with One UI 8 testing as we inch closer to the launch. More importantly, this hints that instead of rollout delays, we might actually see the update arriving ahead of schedule for more devices. The build number currently in testing is A156EDXU5DYF1.

Galaxy A15

The Galaxy A15 originally launched with Android 14 and is slated to receive four major Android updates. That means it’s on track to get support all the way through to Android 18-based One UI 10. That should land sometime in 2027 or 2028. Everything seems on track, and the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy A15 could arrive as early as August or early September.

One UI 8 brings a slew of refinements over its predecessor. While the visual changes are few and far between compared to predecessor, the real focus is on under-the-hood improvements. Key highlights include the new 90:10 multitasking split, additional Routine actions, Dynamic wallpapers, and much more.

Meanwhile, Samsung is also ramping up its beta testing program. So far, three rounds of beta updates have been rolled out to squash bugs and fine-tune performance before the final release. Currently, the One UI 8 beta is only available for the Galaxy S25 series across several regions. Whether more devices will be added to the beta program or not, it remains to be seen.
