Galaxy S24, S23, and S22 Series Receive August Update Worldwide

Samsung’s August update is now widely available for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, and Galaxy S22 series. The rollout began in the US and gradually expanded to other regions, reaching most parts of the world this week. Users in the remaining few markets, like India, should receive the update soon.

Galaxy S24, S23, and S22 lineups are getting the August update globally

Last week, Samsung started rolling out the August SMR (Security Maintenance Release) to eligible Galaxy devices. It has since released the update for over a dozen different models. All recent flagships and foldables, except for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, have picked up the latest security patch.

Initially, Samsung released the new SMR in the US. The Galaxy S24 was the first flagship lineup to receive the update in other markets. The company has gradually rolled out the August security fixes to the new flagships globally. The update has also hit international versions of the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22 in recent days.

You’d be disappointed if you were expecting Samsung to include the One UI 6.1.1 AI features and camera enhancements in this month’s security release. The update doesn’t bring any additional goodies. The company is supposed to push those features to all compatible devices in August but the rollout hasn’t begun yet.

The first August update for your Galaxy S24, S23, or S22 smartphone only contains the latest security fixes. Samsung is pushing 50 vulnerability patches, at least two of which are critical patches. You should install the update as soon as you can. Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check for updates.

Samsung may release another update later this month to bring compatible AI features and more to these flagships. Or maybe it’ll delay that feature update till September. We will let you know when we have more information. Samsung’s Android 15-based One UI 7.0 beta update has also been delayed. There’s no timeline available for it.
