Samsung Scores Four Spots in Q1 2025 Global Best-Selling Phones List

Samsung had a solid Q1 2025 in terms of smartphone sales, securing the top spot in the global market with 60.5 million shipments. The company rode on the back of a strong demand for its budget, mid-range, and flagship smartphones. Four Galaxy models made it to the list of the top ten best-selling smartphones in the first three months of the year.

Unsurprisingly, Apple managed to hold the first four spot in the world’s best-selling smartphone list in Q1 2025. The Cupertino-based tech giant’s iPhone 16 took the first position, followed by the iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro, and last year’s iPhone 15. The iPhone 16 Plus secured the tenth spot, bringing Apple’s total to five models in the global top 10.
While Samsung failed to achieve the top spot, four Galaxy smartphones across different price segments made it to the list. The flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra secured the seventh spot in Q1 2025, down from the fifth spot held by the S24 Ultra during the same period last year.
The report says Samsung suffered a drop due to a shorter sales window for the S25 Ultra during the quarter — the new model arrived over a week later in the market than its predecessor. Despite this, the device contributed one-fourth of Samsung’s total smartphone sales in its active sales month.

The good news is that the Galaxy S25 Ultra continues to show high demand due to its solid performance, pro-grade camera, new AI features, and more. In fact, the entire Galaxy S25 series has been well-received by consumers. The Galaxy S25 series (excluding S25 Edge) surpassed two million sales in its home country in record time. The newly launched Galaxy S25 Edge is also getting a strong response from consumers.
The Galaxy A16 5G ranked fifth in Q1 2025, up one spot from the A15 5G’s position last year. It grew 17% year-over-year, supported by wider availability in markets such as North America. The Galaxy A06 took the sixth position, while the Galaxy A55 5G came in ninth. While the base Galaxy S24 appeared on the list last year, there was no place for the S25 this year.
