SmartThings Update Boosts Sleep Experience with Samsung Health Integration

Samsung keeps pushing updates to its SmartThings app on a quarterly basis to introduce new features and improvements for a seamless user experience. The latest release enhances the AI Home experience and sleep environments. This update should land on all eligible Galaxy devices worldwide over the next few days.
What’s new in the latest SmartThings update?
With the latest update, Samsung has integrated SmartThings with Samsung Health to enhance users’ sleep environments and deliver more personalised automation experiences. On top of that, the update expands Calm Onboarding capability to more devices and adds Matter 1.4 compatibility.
Speaking of the sleep environments, it is a new feature within the Samsung Health app on Galaxy devices. It generates a report on your previous night’s sleep conditions and gives personalised suggestions for improvement. The report adds insights on several measures such as temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide levels through connected devices and sensors.

SmartThings now makes it easier to automate your home with routines based on repeating schedules — weekly, monthly, or yearly. For example, you can adjust your smart lights to change color automatically for family birthdays or other special occasions. On top of that, you can also integrate automation routines with Samsung TV Plus on 2025 Samsung TV models.
Another notable addition to the latest update is the support for broadcasting via SmartThings connected speakers. You can now send voice messages to speakers around your home, making it easier to communicate with family members.

Samsung’s Calm Onboarding feature offers an easy way to connect all your smart home appliances. The company has now expanded Calm Onboarding support to more compatible third-party smart home devices. This feature will initially be available in Korea, with more countries to follow soon.
Elsewhere, SmartThings now makes the smart home experience better by adding support for Matter 1.4. This latest update includes a bunch of energy management devices such as a water heater, a heat pump, a solar power device, a battery storage device, a mounted on/off control switch, and a mounted dimmable load control device.
Do note that these features are available on One UI 7 Galaxy devices with Samsung Health version 6.29 or later. You will also need a connected device that can detect sleep and wakefulness, such as the Galaxy Watch 4/5/6/7, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Fit 3, and Galaxy Ring.
