LOG Video Mode Might Arrive to Front Camera Across Galaxy S25 Line

by | May 13, 2025 | Galaxy S, News

It looks like Samsung could be planning to bring the pro-level video feature LOG mode to the front cameras of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra (review), and Galaxy S25 Edge (hands-on). If you’re not familiar, LOG mode (short for “logarithmic”) captures video in a flatter, lower-contrast format, preserving more detail in both bright and dark areas. It’s typically what filmmakers and content creators use to fine-tune color and lighting in post-production.

Pro-level LOG mode is coming soon to front cameras across Galaxy S25 line

Until now, LOG video has mostly been limited to the rear cameras of these phones. But @DevOfIpos discovered clues that suggest LOG mode could soon be available for the front cameras across the Galaxy S25 lineup. If this happens, it would be a major addition to the already impressive selfie camera on these devices.

When asked when the tipster expects LOG mode to arrive for the front cameras on the Galaxy S25 line, they indicated that it could come next month. More specifically, they mentioned that the feature might debut with the June update. With this in mind, the June update could be one worth looking out for if you’re a Galaxy S25 user.

The newest member of the Galaxy S25 lineup, the Galaxy S25 Edge, will also begin shipping to those who pre-ordered it at the end of the month. This means that the June update will also mark the first software update for the Galaxy S25. It aligns with earlier reports (h/t KeepUPwithOneUI) that teased the June update could be a “major update.”

On a related note, Google confirmed today during The Android Show that Android 16 will launch this summer. While Google didn’t explicitly mention Samsung or One UI 8.0, it’s not hard to guess where the company was pointing. After all, we already know that the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 may debut running Android 16-based One UI 8.0.
