Samsung’s slimmest flagship model, the Galaxy S25 Edge, arrives as the fourth member of the Galaxy S25 family. The Korean firm compromised some of its specs to achieve a thickness of just 5.8mm. It ditches the telephoto zoom camera found on the other models in the lineup, but retains the 200MP primary camera from the Ultra model. However, Samsung has introduced a 10x AI Zoom capability on the primary camera to enhance details of distant subjects.

Samsung has positioned the Galaxy S25 Edge between the S25+ and S25 Ultra, with a starting price of $1,099 for the 12GB/256GB storage option. So, it’s an expensive smartphone that focuses on a slim form factor and flagship-level performance. However, it opts for a dual-camera system with a wide and ultrawide combination, which could be disappointing for users looking for a top-tier camera as well as a sleek design.
Speaking of the camera specs of its primary units, the Galaxy S25 Edge sports a 200MP wide camera with f/1.7, OIS, 2x optical quality zoom, and up to 10x AI zoom. On top of that, it uses the same physical sensor as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, ensuring incredible image quality.
So, there’s no doubt that the Galaxy S25 Edge’s main camera with 2x optical zoom can deliver sharper image quality. But what caught our eye was the mention of 10x AI Zoom in its official specs sheet. It looks like Samsung tried to compensate for the lack of a dedicated telephoto lens with AI zoom capabilities.
With AI Zoom, users can get closer and capture enhanced details. The company says AI Zoom applies to distances between digital zoom lengths, but it does not guarantee the accuracy of the results. Additionally, Galaxy S25 Edge supports next-gen ProVisual Engine that allows the camera to capture crisp, clear, and vibrant photos, day or night.
