The Galaxy S25 Edge officially launches on May 12. It’s just a few days — or a few big hours — until the big reveal. The phone is launching nearly four and a half months after the first teaser at January’s Unpacked event. Samsung has shown the phone a couple of times but never allowed anyone to touch it. But in just a few days, we’ll finally get our first hands-on.
Now, with just hours to go before the big show, a question arises. Who should buy the Galaxy S25 Edge? Should you go for the Galaxy S25 Ultra or Galaxy S25+ instead? We’ll help you figure out if the Galaxy S25 Edge is the right choice for you. Or not. Let’s discuss where the Galaxy S25 Edge really has an edge over its peers.

The Galaxy S25 Edge brings the slim factor with a larger screen
The most obvious upgrade is the 6.7-inch screen, noticeably larger than the Galaxy S25’s 6.2-inch display and in line with the Galaxy S25+’s 6.7-inch screen. However, what sets the S25 Edge apart is its incredibly slim design, measuring just 5.84mm, according to leaks.
This means you get all the benefits of a larger screen for viewing, gaming, and multitasking, without the added bulk. It’s the perfect choice if you want a big-screen experience but don’t want your phone to feel like a brick in your hand.
It gets the right set of cameras you need
Over a week ago, we exclusively spotted references to the Galaxy S25 Edge camera. Whether the Galaxy S25 Edge would feature a 200MP camera had been a mystery, but thanks to some leaked promo materials earlier today, it’s now confirmed — and just as we expected.
The Galaxy S25 Edge comes with a 200MP wide-angle lens paired with a 12MP ultra-wide lens on the rear. On the front, you’ll find a 12MP front camera, which is consistent with the rest of the lineup. We didn’t expect any changes, so everything checks out here.

There’s no compromise on durability
Some eight weeks ago, a Samsung executive while speaking about the Galaxy S25 Edge on the sidelines of MWC dropped a major hint. “The second thing I’ll say concerns durability. With anything slim, durability [has to come as part of the package]. Those are the two features [of the Galaxy S25 Edge] that are exciting [for us],” a spokesperson told TechRadar.
Now, with a flurry of leaks from both north and south, we have a clearer picture of what they were hinting at. According to leaked promo materials, including one from today, the Galaxy S25 Edge features a titanium frame and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front. The back will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. This means the slim design doesn’t seem to compromise on durability.
Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy
The most important piece of hardware in any phone is the SoC. Everything else… yes, quite literally… is secondary. While there were no rumors suggesting Samsung would go Exynos for the S25 Edge, it was still a possibility.
But that’s not happening. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy is set to power the Galaxy S25 Edge. Although not officially confirmed, leaks indicate it will be paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. This makes it a solid contender, ensuring that slimness doesn’t come at the cost of performance.
The Galaxy S25 Edge’s price seems right
Style and looks are largely subjective. You might love the design of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, or you might prefer a more compact phone. As someone who even dreams about phones, I get the appeal. But if I were to share my opinion, thinness really matters and contributes to a solid design. After all, would you prefer a brick in your pocket? But that’s beside the point.
Even with its super-sleek design and top-tier performance specs, the Galaxy S25 Edge doesn’t quite match the Galaxy S25 Ultra in terms of pricing. While official pricing is still under wraps, multiple leaks suggest it will sit between the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra, likely starting at around $1099/$1199.
