A huge leak for One UI 8 Watch spread out recently, and it contains some exciting new information, not only about the next major watch software update, but also features for the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic. Without further ado, here are some more changes and additions.
New tiles for Health, Weather, and more
Fellow SammyGuru writer Gerwin van Giessen discovered a plethora of new tile previews for One UI 8 Watch. These include tiles from Samsung Health, Calendar, Weather, and more. They come in two different sizes. The first is what we shall call Fill Size tiles. These would fill up the entire watch’s screen, and show expanded information on various factors, like details on the weather outside or how you slept the previous night. Here’s a few examples of how they will look.
The second size is what we’ll call Half Size tiles Half Size tiles. These are, as the name suggests, half the size of full size -size tiles and and show only the most important information in a more compact form. We’re not entirely sure what these half sized -sized versions are intended for exactly, but our guess is that you could combine two half tiles into one tile. This would reduce the amount of swiping needed and make it easier to access key information more quickly. Here’s how they look.
New features coming with the Galaxy Watch 8 series?
We have previously reported on an exciting new feature for Samsung Health, the Antioxidant Index. This measures a user’s beta carotene levels and outputs a response on three different levels, Low, Adequate, or Optimal. These are also color-coded, Orange, Yellow and Blue respectively. Here is how they look in both full and half tile sizes.
Refreshed tiles for various other apps
Here are a few extra examples of the new tile designs. These include the Media Controller, Alarm and Stopwatch apps. The full-sized variants each have extra options given to them, like extra buttons or information.
These tiles have been completely overhauled, with the aim to be more modular and to show more information without the user needing to open an app. New discoveries on One UI 8 Watch are being found every day, so stay tuned to SammyGuru for all the latest.
