Samsung has officially stopped software updates support for the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A82. These phones came out in 2021, and after about four years, they’ve now reached the end of their update life. This means they won’t get any more Android updates or security patches from Samsung.

This isn’t surprising. When the Galaxy A52 and A82 were released, Samsung promised four years of software support. That time has now passed, so the company has removed them from its official list of supported devices. If you’re still using one of these phones, it might be time to think about getting a new one.
Samsung’s newer phones come with much longer support. Starting with the Galaxy S24, Samsung now offers seven years of software and security updates for its flagship phones. Even new mid-range phones now get six years of support. But that wasn’t the case back in 2021.
If you’re looking to upgrade, there are several options in Samsung’s current A-series. The Galaxy A36 costs $399 and offers better specs and long-term updates. The Galaxy A26 is a bit cheaper at $299, and the Galaxy A16 is the most budget-friendly at $199.
