Two weeks after the Galaxy S25 was unveiled at the January Unpacked event, reports suggested that Samsung could begin production of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 in May. Right on schedule, production of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 has now begun, according to PandaFlashPro.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 production begins ahead of July unveiling
In July, Samsung is expected to host its summer Unpacked event. The company usually takes the wraps off its foldables in summer. It’s reportedly happening again this year, in July, with New York as the venue. The specific date for the event remains under wraps, but Korean media speculates it could be scheduled for early July.

While it’s certain that we’ll see the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 unveiled, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE remains uncertain. If Samsung doesn’t launch the affordable FE foldable at the same event, it could arrive later, possibly alongside the Galaxy S25 FE. For now, take that with a pinch of salt.

There has also been a lot of discussion surrounding the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s thickness. Some reports speculated it would measure around 8.2mm when folded, which would make it approximately 52% thinner than the original Galaxy Fold. However, PandaFlashPro says that’s not happening. The tipster doesn’t go into specifics but simply states that it’s not going to be 8.2mm. We’ll let you know once more information becomes available.
Other than that, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are expected to boot Android 16-based One UI 8.0. A bunch of One UI 8.0 system apps have already leaked, giving us a sneak peek at what’s to come. A wider rollout of One UI 8.0 will likely follow soon after the official launch.
