Galaxy S25 Edge’s camera details emerged ahead of launch
The Galaxy S25 Edge will arrive in the market as the company’s slimmest smartphone ever, measuring just 5.84mm in thickness. Due to its slim form factor, the company has compromised in terms of specs in several areas, such as a missing zoom camera and a smaller battery. Thankfully, Samsung will offer a 200MP primary camera on the S25 Edge to make it compelling, in addition to its slim design.
Today, we have spotted the main and ultrawide camera parts details of the Galaxy S25 Edge on the regulatory database. As per the listing, Galaxy S25 Edge will sport a 1/3-inch 200MP main camera, which is similar to that of Galaxy S25 Ultra. So, it’s good to see that Samsung has borrowed the main camera unit from its Ultra model, enabling near-lossless digital zoom photos up to 3x or 4x magnification.
As for the ultrawide unit, the Galaxy S25 Edge will feature a 1/2.55-inch 12MP camera, which is the same as the base Galaxy S25 model. While Samsung fans were hoping the company would include the newly introduced 50MP ultrawide camera from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, this latest news comes as a disappointment.
But it is understandable, after all, Galaxy S25 Edge is a slim flagship phone that combines features from other models in the S25 lineup. More importantly, the company may position the phone between the S25+ and S25 Ultra. It will be interesting to see how the company sets its pricing
As far as launch is concerned, Samsung will likely reveal the Galaxy S25 Edge fully on May 13, with a potential global release (including the US) on May 30.
