The original report published on 04/29 8:00 AM follows…
After nearly three weeks of unexplained silence, AT&T has finally released the One UI 7 update for carrier-locked Galaxy S24 units on its network. The delay had frustrated many users, especially since other major US carriers began pushing the Android 15-based update well ahead of AT&T. Hopefully, this opens up the way for One UI 7 updates for other Galaxy devices on its network.
One UI 7 is finally available for Galaxy S24 users with a locked AT&T unit
We recently highlighted this issue in an article pointing out how AT&T was lagging behind competitors like Verizon and T-Mobile, both of which rolled out One UI 7 to several Galaxy models days — in some cases weeks — earlier. AT&T users were left waiting, without clear communication or a release timeline.
Thankfully, the wait is now over. AT&T is now pushing the One UI 7 update to Galaxy devices, starting with the Galaxy S24 series. Users are getting the BYD9 build along with the April security patch. The OTA package weighs around 5GB. The update includes all the usual One UI 7 enhancements: improved animations, smarter app features, refined privacy controls, new AI tools, Camera enhancements, and more.
AT&T hasn’t offered an explanation for the delay, but with the update now rolling out, users can finally enjoy the new features and performance boosts that One UI 7 brings. The Galaxy S23, Fold 6, Flip 6, and more models should soon receive One UI 7 on AT&T’s network. If you’re using an AT&T-locked Galaxy phone, now’s the time to head to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check for the update manually.
As with most rollouts, it may take a few days to reach all eligible devices, so wait a few days if the update doesn’t show up today. Since it’s a massive update, you should connect your phone to a stable, unmetered Wi-Fi network before downloading the file.
