Samsung is readying its 2025 foldable lineup, which includes the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and potentially a couple more models. There’s chatter that the Korean firm may introduce an affordable foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip FE, and its first tri-fold device, the Galaxy G Fold, this year. Now, a fresh report claims that Samsung will hold the Galaxy Unpacked event to unveil these devices in New York in early July.

Samsung may hold its Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 Unpacked in New York

According to the Korean outlet, The JoongAng, Samsung has finalized New York, USA, as the venue for this year’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 Unpacked event and is currently making preparations. The report adds that the date for the upcoming Unpacked event is most likely to be early July 2025.

Samsung usually holds its summer unpacked event in July or August to unveil its foldable lineup. So, this year is no exception. Last year, the Unpacked event took place on July 10 in Paris. However, Samsung may push the date forward this year, though the exact date remains under wraps. If we are to guess, it could take place on July 9.

“The second half of the Unpack has been held mainly in cultural cities, such as Seoul in 2023 and Paris last year, and this time, it will be held again in New York, the most representative cultural city, after three years,” an industry insider told the publication.

In August 2022, Samsung held its Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 launch event in New York. So, the foldable launch will return to New York after three years, though it’s unclear if the Galaxy Z Flip FE and Galaxy G Fold will arrive at the same event.

The event could bring something else, though

Meanwhile, rumors are swirling that Samsung might announce the next-gen Galaxy Watch and Android XR headset during the event. There’s also chatter that Samsung might ship One UI 8 with Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 out of the box. If true, we can expect the Korean firm to announce its next-gen One UI during the event, paving the way for a beta program for other eligible Galaxy devices.
