Galaxy S25 Edge Set for May 13 Launch, But Global Sales Begin Later

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge slim flagship may not arrive in the US until the end of May. While the company looks set to unveil the device on the previously rumored date of May 13, its initial launch will be reportedly limited to Korea and China. A global release, including the US, will follow on May 30, the Korean media reports.

Galaxy S25 Edge goes official in less than three weeks, but it will be a limited initial launch

The Galaxy S25 Edge has been semi-official for so long. Samsung teased the device at Galaxy Unpacked in January 2025 and followed up with another exhibition at MWC 2025. It was expected to finally launch the first-ever slim flagship this month, but it delayed the launch due to reasons best known to the company.

Now, the Korean behemoth looks all set to take the wraps off the Galaxy S25 Edge on May 13. It will host a launch event to reveal full specifications, pricing, and color options for the phone. However, according to a report from Korea, sales won’t begin immediately. Samsung will open pre-reservations for the handset in Korea and China from May 14 to 20.

This will be followed by reservations from May 21 to 23, opening up sales in the two countries. A global launch, including the US, follows on May 30. It’s unclear if that’s the date for general sales in the rest of the world (at least the markets where the S25 Edge will be available) or pre-orders. More details should be available soon.

Samsung has allegedly priced the Galaxy S25 Edge at 1.5 million KRW for the 256GB storage version and 1.63 million KRW for the 512GB version. This means the device sits between the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra. Expect a similar pricing structure in the US and other regions, which means a starting price of around $1,100. Early buyers will get a free storage upgrade, the report confirms.
