With each passing day, we’re getting closer to Samsung’s highly anticipated foldable lineup. The stakes are high for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. And if luck’s on our side, Samsung might also unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE at the same event. That one’s expected to be the more affordable option, resembling the Galaxy Z Flip 6, with a few toned-down specs. Now, a new report says mass production for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 kicks off in May.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will soon enter mass production, on track for July debut

According to Korean outlet The Bell, Samsung Display has kicked off production of panels for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Once the panels are ready, they’ll be handed off to Samsung MX—the division that handles the mobile business. That means the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are on track to enter mass production in May.

Samsung continues to rely heavily on its manufacturing base in Vietnam, where both Samsung Display and Samsung Electronics operate. After the panels are produced, they’re delivered to nearby assembly facilities where the majority of Samsung’s smartphones, including flagship models, are built. From there, the finished devices are distributed globally to markets such as the US and beyond.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE

As for upcoming releases, there’s some speculation around the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Rumor has it Samsung might hold off on launching it alongside the regular Flip 7 to keep the spotlight on the premium model. Instead, the FE version could drop later this year. Since we’re still a few months out, now might be a good time to check out all the leaked renders.

Samsung also plans to debut Galaxy tri-fold, though it’s still unclear if we’ll see it this year. Or if it’ll be pushed to 2026. Some earlier reports have pointed to early 2026 as a possible release window. We’ll likely hear more about that in the coming months.
