Google Wallet is quietly becoming a lot more useful. The latest Google Wallet update brings support for 25 more banks and credit unions across the US. On top of that, Google is rolling out real-time train status updates in select countries.
Google Wallet now supports 25 new banks and credit unions
As spotted by Android Police, Google has added 25 more banks and credit unions to Wallet in the US, making it easier for users across the country to tap and pay with their phones. The new batch includes names like Bank of Guam, Waco Federal Credit Union (TX), SouthWest Bank (TX), and Northwest Arkansas Federal Credit Union (AR).
It’s a solid mix of smaller, member-owned institutions and regional banks. Many of which were left out when Google Wallet first launched. Here’s the full list of newly supported banks and credit unions:

Real-time train status updates now live in India and Canada
Google Wallet also added a handy feature for train travelers. If you’re in India or Canada, you’ll now see real-time updates on your train tickets added to the app, reports 9to5Google. That means you’ll get live status info like delays and new departure times right on your ticket card and on the Wallet home screen. Notifications will also alert you when your train is delayed.
Other small updates include the ability to add nicknames to transit passes, and an easier way to upgrade loyalty cards added manually. Google Wallet also recently launched in Jordan and Pakistan, with full support across Android, Wear OS, and Fitbit devices. We’ll likely hear more about any upcoming features, especially with Google I/O 2025 coming up next month.
