Samsung TV Plus Sees Massive Growth, Record Engagement in 2025

by | Apr 17, 2025 | News, TV

Samsung TV Plus is cementing its place as a dominant force in the FAST (Free Ad-Supported TV) streaming space. After recording significant growth in 2024, the service has enjoyed a robust start to 2025. It now offers nearly 700 channels in the US, more than any other major FAST platform.

Samsung TV Plus goes from strength to strength

What began nearly a decade ago as a small selection of linear channels has evolved into one of the most expansive and widely used FAST services worldwide. With its roots tied closely to Samsung’s smart TVs — the world’s best-selling TV brand for 19 consecutive years — the service has grown into a key content hub for millions, offering over 3,500 channels globally across 30 countries.

In October 2024, Samsung TV Plus amassed 88 million monthly active users globally. The service has since gone from strength to strength. In Q1 2025, it saw a 30% year-over-year surge in engagement, signaling growing consumer interest in ad-supported streaming alternatives.

On-demand viewing is also on the rise, with Samsung adding over 70% more shows and movies to its library, leading to a 177% increase in hours viewed compared to the same period last year. The US lineup alone now includes more than 100 exclusive channels. Its programming spans live sports, Spanish-language content, music, kids’ entertainment, Korean dramas, and local news across 114 designated market areas.

Samsung’s strategic partnerships with major studios and networks — including Disney, Lionsgate, Paramount, A&E, NBC, and MLB — have helped fuel its content catalog with thousands of hours of premium entertainment. These deals have allowed Samsung TV Plus to deliver both depth and variety across its free-to-watch platform.

Beyond content, Samsung TV Plus is also attracting attention from advertisers. Samsung Ads has developed AI-driven contextual targeting tools that match ad campaigns with relevant audiences across the platform’s top-performing genres. The service is especially popular among key demographics, including Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and viewers aged 18-49.

With no subscription required and seamless integration on Samsung devices, Samsung TV Plus is uniquely positioned to thrive as the FAST model gains traction. The platform continues to focus on expanding its content lineup, enhancing user experience, and developing new ways to connect brands, content creators, and viewers. As the company leans into 2025, Samsung TV Plus appears set on maintaining its lead in the FAST race.
