One UI 7 for Galaxy S23 Not Coming April 22, Telus Quietly Updates Schedule

While Samsung is struggling with the rollout of its One UI 7 update, a report recently suggested that the Galaxy S23 series would receive the update starting April 22. Now it looks like the company has further delayed the timeline for the Galaxy S23 series. We are referring to the timeline shared by Canadian wireless carrier Telus, but it has now been removed from the page.

Earlier this month, Samsung started rolling out its much-awaited stable One UI 7 update for several Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Fold SE in South Korea, the US, Canada, and Europe. However, due to some maintenance requirements, the company halted its rollout, leaving millions of Galaxy users disappointed.

Telus removes April 22 One UI 7 rollout date for Galaxy S23 series

Amid all this, Telus recently shared the One UI 7 rollout timeline for the Galaxy S23 series on its “software update schedule” page. As per the timeline, Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra users would get the One UI 7 update starting April 22. However, today, the carrier removed the listing from its page, suggesting that Samsung has no intention of rolling out One UI 7 in April for its two-year-old flagship devices.

Telus previously shared a release timeline but has since taken it down.

So, when will the Galaxy S23 series receive the stable One UI 7 update? Samsung’s regional rollout timelines for different markets point to sometime in May 2025. If we look at the India and Germany timelines, both clearly mention that the Galaxy S23 series (including FE) will receive the update in May 2025. Samsung seems to have reserved the April 2025 timeline for only the Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold SE.

However, the good news is that the company assures it will resume the rollout of One UI 7 to eligible Galaxy devices very soon, though the exact date is still unknown. So, keep an eye out for updates on your Galaxy device — navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If the company pushes the update for your device, you will see the option to download and install it. What makes it weird that the One UI 8 build has been leaking for a bunch of devices. But guess, we’ll just have to wait for the One UI 7 rollout.
