Samsung launched the News app in the US two years ago and quickly expanded it to Canada. Now, Samsung has launched the News app in the UK as well. So now British users can try out free access to a wide range of premium news content from leading publishers.
Samsung News launches in the UK, bringing personalized news experience
Samsung News brings personalized news experience. The app sources news from Sky News, Sky Sports, Daily Mail, The Independent, Mirror, Business Insider, Reuters, and more. You could tailor your news feed according to your interests. Whether you like to read about politics, business, sports, or entertainment, you can pick your choices and add them. Samsung says a team of editors will curate the content, who may also seemingly offer diverse perspectives and a balanced view of breaking news.
“There’s never been a greater need for accurate, verified, and balanced news that doesn’t live behind a paywall, says Andrew Bailey, editor-in-chief of Samsung News. “Our goal with Samsung News is to offer Galaxy users a broad selection of free content from premium partners, including breaking news, deep-dives, and briefings hand-picked by our experienced news editors.”
“Sky News is trusted by millions for fast and accurate breaking news, deep analysis and insight and eyewitness journalism from around the world,” Sky News Group executive chairman, David Rhodes added. “We’re delighted, alongside our Sky Sports colleagues, to be partnering with Samsung News allowing us to bring millions more Galaxy users the full story, first.”
One of the app’s key features is its Morning and Evening Briefings, which provide you with curated news updates. Additionally, you can access a curated selection of Top Stories, which ensures you are up-to-date with the most important news. It may be a good time to make the move from Google News, maybe.
For users who have the Samsung Free app already installed, the new Samsung News app is now available as an update. Those without the app can easily download it from the Galaxy Store.
