Samsung’s next-gen budget earbuds — the Galaxy Buds FE 2 — have taken a major step toward launch. A recent listing on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website has confirmed its existence. The upcoming pair of affordable wireless earbuds could go official soon.

BIS certification hints at the nearing launch of the Galaxy Buds FE 2

The Galaxy Buds FE 2 will arrive as the successor to Samsung’s first-generation Galaxy Buds FE launched in October 2023. These are an affordable pair of wireless earbuds. We recently learned that the new pair bears the model number SM-R410, which lines up with that of the original model (SM-R400).

Now, the latest BIS certification, first spotted by XpertPick, shows a Samsung device with model number EP-QR410. It appears to be the charging case for the Galaxy Buds FE 2 — the Buds FE’s charging case was marked EP-QR400, making this progression quite clear. This strongly indicates that the new earbuds are nearing launch readiness.

While we still do not have a launch timeline, Samsung began firmware development for this pair a while ago. All signs point to a launch as early as July 2025, possibly alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 during Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event.

Expect a similar price tag as the first-gen model

Samsung may price the Galaxy Buds FE 2 similarly to the original model, i.e., around $100. The idea is to give budget-conscious users a compelling alternative to pricier earbuds without sacrificing too much on features. The first-gen Galaxy Buds FE featured a triple-mic setup for clear calls, Bluetooth 5.2, and an ergonomic wingtip design.

Interestingly, Samsung switched to a stemmed design with the Galaxy Buds 3 flagship series. It remains to be seen if the FE lineup adopts a similar design language or if the company sticks to the existing shape. We shall find out in the coming weeks.
