Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro Arrives with Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and Dual Hot-Swap Battery

Samsung has finally launched its next-generation rugged devices, which include the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro smartphone and the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro tablet. In our previous article, we have already covered details about the XCover 7 Pro. Now, we will take a look at what Samsung has introduced with the Tab Active 5 Pro.

Samsung unveils Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro

Samsung has launched an upgraded version of the Galaxy Tab Active 5, dubbed Tab Active 5 Pro. It arrives as a successor to the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, launched in 2022. The Tab Active 5 Pro is available in two connectivity options: 5G+Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi. As for memory configurations, it is available in two options: 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB storage configurations.

As far as pricing is concerned, the 6G/128GB model (Wi-Fi-only) costs EUR 809 (roughly $914) in Europe. Currently, the pricing for the 8GB/256GB model and the 5G version remains under wraps. Regarding availability, the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro will be available in early June 2025 in the US.

The Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro is a rugged tablet that features a 10.1-inch display with a WUXGA TFT LCD. The device features IP68 water and dust resistance, MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. Powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, the device runs on the Android 15 operating system. It also packs a bunch of AI features such as Circle to Search with Google, Object Eraser, AI Select, and Read Aloud.

The device features a 12MP (f/1.8) rear camera with flash and an 8MP (f/2.0) front camera. It packs a massive 10,100mAh user-replaceable battery with dual hot-swap support that allows workers to replace batteries without powering down their device. Connectivity options include 5G (Sub6), LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v5.4, NFC (Front Tagging, AT&T, First Net, CBRS).

Other features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an S Pen (IP68-rated), USB 3.2 Type-C, a 3.5mm Audio Jack, and a programmable Active Key. It supports biometric authentication with face recognition and a fingerprint scanner. Regarding security, it has Samsung Knox with Samsung Knox Vault, eSE.
