Alongside a global release, Good Lock received a major feature upgrade with One UI 7. Unfortunately, a few bugs sneaked in too, causing inconvenience to users. If you have noticed that the battery icon has mysteriously vanished from the status bar after installing One UI 7, Good Lock‘s QuickStar module is responsible for it. More importantly, it’s fairly simple to fix the problem, so let’s dive in.
QuickStar may hide the battery icon in One UI 7
According to Samsung’s QuickStar development team, this issue primarily affects users who had previously disabled the battery icon in the QuickStar app while using One UI 6.1 or an older version. In One UI 7, the company made a small but important change: it integrated the battery icon and battery percentage display.
Because of this change, users who previously controlled the visibility of the battery icon through QuickStar settings may encounter issues. Fortunately, the fix is quick and easy. Just follow these steps:
- Open the Good Lock app and tap on QuickStar from the Plugins list.
- Go to Visibility of Indicator Icons.
- Find and enable the Battery Icon toggle.
Once you complete these steps, the battery icon should reappear on your status bar, the QuickStar development team reassures. “We apologize for any inconvenience caused,” they said in an official release. QuickStar also lets you customize other status bar and quick panel UI elements.
As said, this issue only affects One UI 7 users, primarily those who used Quickstar to adjust the battery icon in the past. So far, Samsung has released the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Fold SE in South Korea, Europe, and the US. It was expected to go global this month, but Samsung has halted the rollout due to bugs. It’s unclear when the rollout will resume.
